The Bishu Kakoten (Beautiful Sake and Delicious Dishes Exhibition) is a large-scale exhibition with a theme of "sake," specializing in "sake cups, vessels, and related items for delicious sake and snacks."

This year marks the third time for this exhibition, which began during the COVID-19 pandemic. While we had primarily envisioned it for enjoying sake alone or with family, starting this year, we also want to enjoy lively gatherings with friends at home!

This exhibition aims to propose a sophisticated table setting unique to FOOD FOR THOUGHT, offering a selection of vessels that can be enjoyed in various situations—alone, with friends, with family, or with loved ones.

You can create a luxurious sake set for one by arranging a small tray with a片口 (katakuchi - pouring vessel) andお猪口 (ochoko - sake cup) and small bowls. Or you can choose larger vessels that can be used for assortments and glasses for the number of guests to create a party set. Please come and find your favorite sake vessels, or even if you don't drink sake, you can look for other vessels or tea utensils.

This year, the artwork will again be handled by our staff member and textile designer, Sumire Akasaka.

From Akasaka about this year's poster:

"In the first and second exhibitions, I drew pictures from a direct side view, but this time, I drew from a slightly diagonal, overhead perspective, closer to the viewpoint in everyday life. In 2023, it feels like the lively and warm times are gradually returning from the extraordinary period we've had. I created the image by imagining a setting with sake and snacks spent with family, partners, and friends in this newly resumed everyday life."

Please come and find your favorite sake vessels with your family and friends.
