Takuya Sudo, very popular for FOOD FOR THOUGHT's popular projects like "Children's Tableware Exhibition" and "Colored Tableware Exhibition," is finally holding his first solo exhibition at our store, a long-cherished dream come true.

As the holiday season approaches at the end of the year, naturally, our eyes turn to beautiful tableware.

Sudo-san's painting style features a unique worldview that blends tradition and modernity with his own sense. His clean porcelain bases, which he shapes himself, are meticulously hand-painted, stroke by stroke, with beautiful yet humorous designs that bring a smile to your face when you pick them up.

His exquisite technique makes it hard to believe these designs are drawn freehand. Designs like arabesques must require an unimaginable amount of work and effort. As you gaze at his brushwork, it's wonderful to ponder the time the artist spent on each piece and appreciate its preciousness.

When users are moved by a piece of art, it creates a timeless connection with the creator. This is the "connection" that we at FFT want to advocate through tableware.

Sudo-san not only uses classical designs but also finds everyday motifs from daily life and incorporates them into his work.

Despite the diverse range of motifs, the overall packaging when viewed as a whole is excellent.

This skill must be a testament to his background as a graphic designer. Even if you usually prefer simple dishes, we encourage you to try incorporating Sudo-san's tableware as an accent. It can express the festive cheer appropriate for the holidays in a stylish way.

Sudo-san says that what he values most in his creative process is his unique "filtering." It's the process of selecting, digesting, and incorporating visual and mental information into his work. Excellent creators in any genre are also masters of filtering.

"Recently, I've been paying more attention to 'negative space.'

The comfortable unity between the shape of the vessel and the design, including the negative space,

is what I aim for.

I want to gradually improve the completeness by going back and forth."

These are Sudo-san's words.

Incidentally, personally, I love the moment when the design appears as I eat the food served on Sudo-san's tableware. This interaction with the tableware, which is impossible with plain dishes, is also one of the joys of tableware.

All children love Sudo-san's tableware! It's also perfect as a gift for families with children!

Our entire staff sincerely looks forward to your visit.
