From December 21st (Sat) to 24th (Tue), FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara will be holding the first solo exhibition by potter Tatsuhiko Kawai, who creates pottery in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture.
Mr. Kawai will be at the store all day on the first day!
Entry from 11:00 to 13:00 on the first day will be by reservation ticket only.
After that, you can enter without a reservation.
Tickets will be available from 22:00 on Saturday, December 14th, on our ticket reservation website (foodforthoughtshop.net).

We have received so many inquiries and requests for Mr. Kawai's works that we feel how much they are loved by many customers. Our long-cherished wish for his first solo exhibition has finally come true! We are very happy that we were finally able to create this opportunity for people to pick up and admire his works.
While valuing beautiful forms, his works are created with the thought of how food will be served and the people who will enjoy it, blending comfortably into daily life and leading to a richer everyday experience.
Mr. Kawai recently told us that he has been "interested in boxes." The new works to be unveiled for the first time at our store are stylish items that brilliantly showcase Mr. Kawai's "playfulness." Fill them, store things in them, or use them as plates...?

Also, his carbonized firing works, named "aogurai" (blue-grey), which he has been focusing on creating in recent years, are characterized by a texture reminiscent of old pewter that has aged over time. Please pay attention to the beautiful scenery reflected in the vessels.
In addition, his soft and high-quality "white glaze" standard works, such as the highly popular relief plates and rim plates at our store, will appear, as well as items with "crackle glaze." He will deliver a rich variety of works, from items suitable for everyday use to unique pieces that are only available at this solo exhibition.
