Tetsuya Otani
Tetsuya Otani's works have been used frequently in FOOD FOR THOUGHT cooking classes and have been highly praised by students.
Even director Yuko Watanabe exclaimed in surprise the first time she used them, due to the sheer beauty of the dishes when food was served on them.
His works, especially the tableware, appear at first glance to be plain white vessels, but perhaps because they are so meticulously designed, or because of their hue or texture, they make food look astonishingly good. The vibrancy of the ingredients is heightened, stimulating the appetite.
The inner surface is a beautiful, flawlessly smooth porcelain skin. Only the finely formed edges have a glaze, creating a "pool" of light. This creates a frame-like effect, beautifully showcasing the food.
Furthermore, they are fired to be very durable, making them microwave and dishwasher safe. They are truly faultless.
These flawless works are perfect and popular with professional chefs, regardless of whether the cuisine is Japanese or Western.
For those who will cherish them for a lifetime.
