Round Plate SS (White)

Sale price$35.00 USD

Shintaro Enami, a ceramic artist attracting attention at FFT.

He is a remarkable artist who, as the top apprentice to Tetsuya and Momoko Otani, gained five years of diverse experience and just recently went independent from "Otani Seitojo" in April of this year.

Our long-held wish came true, and he participated in this exhibition for the first time!

Enami's works feature distinctive flowing lines of shinogi. All are carved by hand, and their elegant and intricate expressions are truly impressive. And his throwing wheel technique is, as expected, superb.

His works are light and fit well in the hand, and the weight balance is also excellent.

The round-rimmed plates have a strong curve in their rising rim, allowing you to firmly scoop up items, for example, with a spoon, without them escaping from the plate. It's also charming to place a sugar cube on the round-rimmed plate SS and serve it to guests. Of course, you can also put snacks on it.

While sophisticated in form, the works, imbued with the soft expression of curves, seem to represent the aroma of coffee, and will surely lead your coffee break to a richer experience.

Diameter: approx. 9cm / Height: approx. 2cm

As these are artisanal works, there may be individual differences in glaze, color, and size.

[Handling Instructions]
Because this pottery is absorbent, its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food. It is prone to color transfer, so we recommend avoiding darkly colored dishes until the entire piece is thoroughly seasoned with oil. The more you use it, the more character it develops, so we hope you enjoy that transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent color transfer and odors to some extent, allowing it to gradually mature.
