FFT-featured artist, ceramist Shintaro Enami, is a notable artist who has just recently become independent from "Otani Tougei" after accumulating five years of diverse experience as the top apprentice of Tetsuya and Momoko Otani.

Enami's works feature distinctive streamlined "shinogi" (facets). All are hand-carved, and their elegant and elaborate appearance is breathtaking. His pottery wheel techniques are also truly exceptional.

The "Mug with Built-in Infuser" is a piece that combines a tea infuser and a cup. It's an item that allows you to brew tea with just one cup, without needing a teapot. The artist says the inspiration came from a cup with a built-in infuser that remained in a corner of his memory from his time studying abroad in Shanghai.

Brewing tea in a pot is wonderful, including the actions and time involved, but isn't it nice sometimes to enjoy delicious tea easily and casually with a single action when you're alone? This item is for unpretentious daily use, yet it strongly conveys the artist's intentions and aesthetic sense. It's a new proposal for teatime.

Because this pottery is absorbent, its appearance will change with moisture and oil from food. Since it is prone to staining, it is recommended to avoid dark-colored dishes until the entire surface has absorbed oil. The more you use it, the more character it develops, so please enjoy that change. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, and it will gradually develop.
