Tetsuhiro Iwata Brief Biography
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1981. Studied architecture at Kyoto Seika University, then apprenticed under ceramic artist Kan Ito. Became independent in 2019. As the artist himself states, he is drawn to "products" like industrial goods. While his works may appear indifferent from a distance, holding them reveals a precise balance and the moving traces of handcraft. The fusion of constructive, simple proportions and organic handwork evokes the modern aesthetic of brutalist architecture. He is an artist of note for Food For Thought.
