49 composition / 2-cylinder A
*Black spots and blemishes may be visible due to iron particles less than 1mm in size appearing on the surface. These are intentionally left by the artist as part of the vessel's character.
A highly artistic item that strongly reflects Mr. Iwata's flexible thinking.
This piece, composed of two cylinders, is hollow inside and connected. It can hold water, so you can also enjoy it as a vase.
This work evokes a sense of déjà vu, like looking at a building. There's a fresh surprise in the gap between the minimalist impression from a distance and the texture of the handiwork that becomes visible up close.
Diameter: Approx. 8 x 6cm / Height: Approx. 12.5cm

Tetsuhiro Iwata Brief Biography
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1981. Studied architecture at Kyoto Seika University, then apprenticed under ceramic artist Kan Ito. Became independent in 2019. As he says himself, he is drawn to "products" like industrial goods. While his works may appear unadorned from a distance, holding them reveals an exquisite balance and the traces of meticulous handiwork. The fusion of constructive, concise proportions and organic handiwork creates a modernity reminiscent of Brutalist architecture. He is an artist that Food For Thought has its eye on.
