Tetsuhiro Iwata Brief Biography
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1981. Studied architecture at Kyoto Seika University, then apprenticed under ceramist Kan Ito. Became independent in 2019. As he himself says he is drawn to "products" like industrial goods, his works may appear uninteresting from a distance, but when held, one is moved by their precise balance and the traces of handwork. The fusion of structured, simple proportions and organic handwork evokes the modernism of brutalist architecture. He is an artist of note at Food for Thought.
