10 Edge plate 8 sun

Sale price$95.00 USD

*Black spots and blemishes may be visible due to the presence of iron particles less than 1mm in size. This is intentionally left by the artist as part of the vessel's character.

Our director, Yuko Watanabe, often uses Iwata-san's edge plates for both work and personal use. The 8-sun size is perfect for main dishes. Simple yet sharp and easy to handle, it's also suitable for professional use in restaurants. As the name suggests, the edges are sharply defined, creating beautiful shadows, making it an ideal vessel for plating food and taking photos.

We invite you to try it in your own home.

Tetsuhiro Iwata Brief Biography
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1981. Studied architecture at Kyoto Seika University, then apprenticed under ceramist Kan Ito. Became independent in 2019. As he himself says, he is drawn to "products" like industrial goods. While his works may appear indifferent from a distance, upon holding them, one is impressed by their exquisite balance and the traces of handcraft. The fusion of constructive, concise proportions and organic handcraft evokes the modernism of Brutalist architecture. He is an artist that Food For Thought is keeping an eye on.
