MODERN CLASSIC cafe au lait bowl M
Because every step in the "MODERN CLASSIC" series is done by hand by artisans, there may be slight black spots from iron powder, air bubbles, or traces of glaze flow. Just as the 1900s brocante we aimed for, we value these traces of handcraftsmanship, so please purchase with understanding. Any pieces with cracks, chips, warps, or other issues that would compromise safe use are all rejected during inspection.

Our director, Ariko Watanabe, often uses brocante cafe au lait bowls at her own table. Her favorites are plain white, thin, and elegantly curved. However, due to recent popularity, good condition items are becoming scarce even in their home country.
That's why we launched our original "MODERN CLASSIC series." While incorporating the best essence of antique pieces, we focused on high-quality Japanese porcelain, specializing in ease of use for modern dining.
This M-sized cafe au lait bowl is large, holding 450ml when full. It's actually the size commonly used in France and elsewhere. As the name suggests, it's perfect for drinking cafe au lait, coffee, or tea, but also for soup. In 19th-20th century France, cafe au lait bowls were often used as soup bowls. It's a versatile cafe au lait bowl that can also be used for breakfast cereal, fruits, or desserts. Many people replace all their household mugs with cafe au lait bowls because they are easy to stack and look beautiful when piled up, making for a picturesque scene.
High-quality Japanese porcelain. This is a confident work created through trial and error with trusted artisans. Based on French brocante from the early to mid-1900s, it has been modernized with a strong waist curve, delicate foot, and a thinness that pushes the limits without becoming fragile. While having a soft, smooth, and rounded feel, the details exude tension. The slightly grayish white glaze gives a gentle impression, and consideration has been given to its versatility for home use. The gray "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" logo is on the bottom.
An elegant, plain white, thin cafe au lait bowl that is hard to find. Brocante items with little signs of use are expensive and hard to come by in sets. We want you to be able to collect these as staples, so we will continue to produce them.
It's very convenient to have enough for your family, and also suitable for professional use in cafes and other restaurants. Alternatively, since it's plain and versatile, it's also perfect for gifts.
