MODERN CLASSIC Cafe au Lait Bowl M Hisoku/Secret
Because all processes of the "MODERN CLASSIC" series are done by hand by artisans, there may be slight black spots from iron powder, air bubbles, or traces of glaze flow. Just as the brocante of the 1900s that we aimed for, we value the traces of handiwork, so please purchase with understanding. All pieces with problems in safe use such as cracks, chips, or distortions are rejected during inspection.

New colors are now available for FFT's popular long-selling MODERN CLASSIC series cafe au lait bowls!
This is the color "Hisoku (Secret)" that the owner is most fond of. It's an ancient Japanese color, used for a long time to enhance the redness/complexion that makes humans look beautiful.
In the "Psychology of Color" using a color wheel, "Hisoku" represents "serenity" and "calmness."
Some Japanese painters first apply this color all over the canvas as the initial base to represent the venous blood in the shadows of humans and animals. In photographic expression, adding this hue to shadows can also emphasize a lively complexion. In makeup, it's a familiar basic color for concealers.
In other words, "Hisoku" is a secret color that best enhances the vivid saturation of living things, i.e., ingredients.
By serving food on "Hisoku" tableware, whites appear whiter, and colored items achieve even higher saturation, truly making them look delicious. A key point is that it suits both Japanese and Western cuisine.
It also conveniently matches any tableware you already own. It goes without saying that it's common in China and Korea, but it's also a hue that has existed in Europe for a long time.
As for cutlery, silver is a given, but wood and brass fall within the complementary color range, making for a perfect match.
"Hisoku" can truly be called a versatile and optimal choice.
⚠️The color is intentionally fired with uneven glaze application. The glaze is not made uniform to preserve the traces of human handiwork. Please be aware of this if you seek perfectly uniform items.

I believe the MODERN CLASSIC cafe au lait bowl has been embraced by so many people because of its sleek, thin form and unparalleled beautiful shape.
It started with the thought, "If there were colors, wouldn't we gain even more fans?" And we were confident that if this shape had color, it wouldn't be rustic but would become sophisticated.
Since FFT has a strong image of white and monochrome, colorful tableware will likely appear very fresh. Precisely because we have focused on white, our approach to color tones has a unique FFT philosophy and essence.
There are four colors below.
